Gabriel Meloni
Born in 2001, Gabriel Meloni has been performing with various ensembles since childhood, making his orchestral debut at the age of ten.
Since then, he has appeared several times at the Vienna Konzerthaus and the Musikverein, as well as at the Bregenz Festival, for ORF, and for Allianz.
He received particular attention following his appearance in the intermission film of the Vienna Philharmonic’s New Year’s Concert.
Gabriel Meloni studied with Oliver Schnyder, Konstantin Scherbakov, and Jan Jiracek von Arnim.
He is currently studying with Benedetto Lupo at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and chamber music with Stefan Mendl at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
He has attended masterclasses with Lang Lang, Eldar Nebolsin, Pavel Gililov, Michel Béroff, and Bernd Goetzke. He is a prizewinner in numerous competitions: in 2018 he won second prize at the “Rotary Piano Prize” in Lindau, in 2012 third prize at the “Jenö Takacs” competition, and in 2019 at the “Nuova Coppa Pianisti” in Osimo.
In 2025 he received the Sylff Scholarship from the Tokyo Foundation and was selected for the “Orpheum Foundation” in Zurich.
Gabriel is also active as a chamber musician and has recorded a CD with bassoon.
In 2025 his first solo album featuring Prokofiev’s Sonata No. 8 was released.
He performs with orchestras such as the Kammerorchester Innstrumenti and the Junge Philharmonie Wien, and is invited by institutions and festivals including the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Spoleto Festival, the Swiss Chamber Music Festival, and Amici della Musica Piemonte
